7th Pay Commission fixed travel allowance to Uttar Pradesh government employees

The Uttar Pradesh government decided to grant its workers a fixed travel allowance, based on recommendations made by the 7th State Pay Commission 2016.

The decision was taken at a cabinet meeting in Lok Bhawan, chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

A state government press release said, “The cabinet has approved the recommendations made by the 7th State Pay Commission 2016 with respect to the permanent monthly allowance (fixed travel allowance).

According to the press release, state government spokesperson Shrikant Sharma said the cabinet has decided to review the existing rates for permanent monthly allowances (fixed travel allowances) as of 1 November 2012.

“This decision would support more than 1.5 lakh workers working in different departments of the Government. At the same time, with immediate effect, the revised rates of a permanent monthly allowance (fixed travel allowance) will apply.

This decision would require additional annual expenditure on the state government of around Rs 20 crore, “he said.
